Jean Giono became one of the most prestigious French writers of the 20th century. The Trièves inspired him to write many texts. The action of his novel Un Roi Sans Divertissement takes place in the village of Lalley, where he regularly stayed.
Espace Giono in Lalley village
Jean Giono often spent holidays with his family or friends (including André Gide) in the village of Lalley, where he also met the painter Edith Berger, who became his friend. A museum, the Espace Giono, located in the same place where he stayed, is dedicated to him.
