If you hike on the Hauts Plateaux of the Vercors, and in particular along the trails of the Grandes Traversées du Vercors, you’ll pass through the Trièves and the Réserve Naturelle Nationale des Hauts Plateaux du Vercors (the largest nature Reserve in France)… and discover the iconic Mont Aiguille and Grand Veymont mountains!

The Trièves: JUST one of the Vercors territories

The western side of the Trièves has 11 village communities which are all part of the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors. The emblematic summit of the Vercors, the Mont Aiguille, formerly called the Mont Inaccessible, is located within the Trièves in the pretty village of Chichilianne. The Grand Veymont, the highest summit of the Vercors, is also located in the village Gresse-en-Vercors in the Trièves.

The Vercors massif mountain range is vast and is made up of 5 territories ( Pays Diois,  Massif du Vercors,  Vercors Drôme, Saint-Marcellin Vercors Isère Communauté,  and the Trièves). These territories are united in a collective named ‘Inspiration Vercors’ to promote the Vercors.

Inspiration Vercors services Vercors tourism and reflects the values of its member communities to our visitors. Inspiration Vercors fosters  a collaborative approach, supported and shared by the Vercors territories, their tourism offices, and the regional departments – the collective is managed by the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors. The local authorities and tourism service providers in the area (through the Inspiration Vercors Partner label) work together to boost the Vercors’  profile and visibility, while at the same time promoting values specific to the area’s conservation.
