La Palpitante is a bookstore located in Mens, on Place de la Halle.
In short, it’s a general-interest bookstore that strives to cover the entire French publishing landscape, focusing on offering high-quality selections and attentive, knowledgeable advice. In early May, POPODAÏ—an event featuring POetry, POttery, DAnce, Improvisation, and Image—takes place around the bookstore. A pottery market is held on May 8, in the center of the Foire aux Plants.
Alongside the Mens Alors! festival, the bookstore organizes “Mens, Zut, Flûte!”—a small “OFF within the OFF”—featuring a diverse and varied array of artistic and other offerings… and admission is always free…
You can enjoy Yeah coffee, roasted in Mens, and Mémé’s nettle herbal teas while munching on homemade cookies—on the terrace during the warmer months and at the counter year-round.
The bookstore is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 6 or 7 p.m., depending on the season...
