Born in Grenoble, I developed a passion for the surrounding mountains at an early age. Becoming a mountain guide and building a straw-bale house in a small mountain village between Vercors and Trièves were a logical next step. Today, I prefer local activities because I love "my" mountains and it's in the relationship with my customers that I find the essence of my profession.

Introduction

Mont Aiguille, at 2086m, dominates the Trièves, and is part of the Vercors High Plateaux Nature Reserve. It's one of the 7 wonders of the Dauphiné.

In 1492, Antoine de Ville made the first ascent of Mont Aiguille on the orders of the King of France, equipped with ladders! Mountaineering was born: access to the summit is indeed mountaineering.

The "Voie normale" is the most classic and easiest route, suitable even for beginners (provided you're not afraid of heights!). It does, however, require suitable equipment and supervision by a qualified mountaineering guide - Marc Vanpé, Guide de Haute Montagne.

Marc supports the Ecotourism initiative by helping you discover the Trièves without a car:

1) He advises (or even accompanies) you on how to get to the start of the activity on foot or by bike.

2) It adapts the activity timetable to train or bus schedules.

3) Deduct the cost of your ticket from the activity's regular fare.

Arrival point/transportation: TER train from Grenoble or Région AURA bus line T95 from Grenoble bus station to Clelles train station.
To reach accommodation: 20-30 min by bike or 40-60 min walk (depending on accommodation). Or transport on request (SNCF) to Chichilianne.

Sustainable Tourism

I never tire of learning more and more about the fragile nature in which we operate. Sharing this knowledge will certainly be at the heart of our outing, and we'll be minimizing our impact in the process.
I'll also be happy to advise you on how to reach me without a car, how to eat good, local food, and how to find authentic accommodation...
