Coutellerie Denok

L'atelier Denok is the name of the cutlery trade in Prébois. Denis Hocquet has been the artisan cutler for over 11 years. He makes unique, personalized handmade knives, as well as the Trièvois, his region's standard knife. You'll discover the forge-welding technique known as "damascus", a practice whose aim is to blend different steels in order to produce unusual patterns on their blades, as well as unequalled cutting quality and flexibility. Self-taught, Denis Hocquet brings a contemporary dimension to forging, because for many people, fire crafts are ancient practices, yet the flame that drives him is still very much alive. The passion that reigns in this workshop will animate the most passionate knife enthusiasts as well as the most curious children. For the past 7 years, he has been running knife-making courses for beginners and pros alike, so that he can continue to federate this practice for many years to come. He also organizes
2 or 3-day introductory courses in cutlery
days, with the aim of showing the different
stages of knife-making, and to take away
